Taipei to Hualian

Hi,

I will be travelling to taipei in early May and intend to go hualian for a day. As there is only 2 of us going:

1. how should i get from XMD to Hualian?

2.When we reach hualian, how can we travel to the %26#39;must see%26#39; places?

Taipei to Hualian

1) Board a MRT train at Ximen Station to Taipei Main Station (one station stop away). Fare: NT$20 Travel time: About 3 mins. At Taipei Main Station, board a railway train to Hualien Railway Station. One-way fare: NT$287 to NT$445 Travel time: About 2 ~ 3.5 hrs (depending on type of train)
