Alishan to Sun moon lake via shuili and other transportation

Hi,

I am planning to visit SML or Cingjing farm after Alishan.

The route here seems to be to take a train from chiayi to taichung, then bus to puli and transfer to SML/CJ.

Is it possible to take a train from chiayi to shuili and then bus to sun moon lake from shuili ? Where can i get the bus schedule ? Is there anywhere to stay at shuili or its better to stay at jiji ?

Also, some other questions on transportation,

)From taoyuan airport, how do i get to taoyan train station ? will it be easier to get to taipei to take train to hualien ?

2) If i stay at hsincheng, are there any hotels there ? From hsiincheng to taroko, are there public transport or i still need to hire a cabby to get aorund ?

3) Is it possible to do a day trip to alishan from chiayi?

1.take TRA train from chayi to Erhshui(二水),and transfer to Shuili.

2.take green bus(豐榮客運)from shuili to SML.

Taipei station is easier.try Taroko train to Haulien it%26#39;s new and fastest.

there are some minsus in Hsincheng.

only two buses a day from Haulien to Taroko n.park via Hsincheng,hiring a cabby is needed.

it%26#39;s possible to do a day trip to alishan but not recommed.

Going from SML to Cingjing farm means taking a bus to puli and change ? Any direct buses ?

Do you have the websites of the minshus/accom at hsincheng. What would the cost be if i hire a cabby at hsincheng to go to taorko ?

Hi ky har,

Hsincheng Railway Station is just 5 km from Taroko. Taxi fare: About NT$160 Travel time: About 10 mins. Alight at Taroko where there are tourist shops on one side of the road. Here you can see the temple-looking gateway and is the east starting point of the East-West Cross Island mountain highway.

Board Hualien buses at Taroko to go to Tienhsiang, enroute Taroko Gorge.

Taroko National Park HQ is just across the bridge over the river, about 10 mins’ walk up the hill slope.
