When i buy the easycard from taipei mrt station, can i use the easycard for bus too?

how about kaohsiung mrt? can i use the easycard i buy in taipei or its totally different?

so which means i can only use the easycard within taipei. in kaohsiung, i cant use the easycard i buy in taipei, right?

May I know the advantage of using Easy card. Is this card to use when boarding the MRT or bus ?

What is the minimum amount top up. This card only for one person so if 5 person so got to buy 5 cards. What about children ? same price or different price. want to know more about this card. Any details.

Also, taxi in Taiwan. Would it fit 5 persons (4 adult) and 1 child. Or we have to order two cabs.

Btw, which is the most economic route to SML from Taipei

a) Train from Taipei to Taichung

b) then from Taichung take a bus to SML (what bus to take in Taichung)?? Nantou.

c) How much altogether. Is the price the same taking HSR or normal train.

or cheaper to book a cab from Taichung train station and take us straight to SML.

d) As we would like to go straight to SML from Taichung staying in laurel villa. Or Hire a private coach NT2000 (5 persons) can the car fit.

Cheaper in the sense i guess.. but only can be use in taipei.. when first bought is NT500.. NT100 is the card deposit.. minimum top up is NT100(SGD $5 so good.. haha~)~ I still left about NT160 for my 6 days trip in Taipei which i didnt even topup.. At the end of your trip, you get the refund plus balance unused amount back, not like Spore EasyLink where they rip you off for that SGD5 non refundable deposit.

Also, there is a discount now -20~25% on the MRt and if you switch to a bus within one hour after exiting the MRT station, you get a 45~50% discount on the bus fare.

Get individual cards for each person and return all at the end of your trip. The One day pass is not really worth it.

Thanks for the prompt reply and update on the discount. So hopefully this discount still valid in the month of Dec right!

We will travel to/fro by HSR to Taichung and nantou bus to SML. After that from Kaoshuing to Taipei by HSR or Train. Of course, internally around Taipei, we will using for MRT or buses (in around cities for shopping, Ximen etc) so the easy card would be useful I supposed then.

So the easy card does not have validity right.
