Yeliu, Jiufen

Me and my bf will be going to taiwan on 24th of march to 30th.Hotel will be Dashin. I was thinking of visiting yeliu and jiufen.

How am i suppose to go? by bus?

Any interesting things in Jiufen?

Are we suppose to pay to view the scenery in yeliu?

The weather there should be quite cooling right?

Is it ok if i where shorts around?

And will there be summer clothes to buy during that period?

It will still be cold to cool in Taipei during March when U%26#39;re visiting.

On top of that, for e.g., Yehliu Geological Park is a coastal space, where moist cool wind blowing in from the sea.

Consider these ideas to decide if shorts are suitable.

Enjoy a cool trip in Taipei!

You have to take buses to these two places, which might take u some time. Especially for Yeliu. Since u don%26#39;t have much time, u might wanna give a second thought for your plan.

Still, Yeliu is quite a nice place to go. The tkt price is NT$20 as i remember.

It%26#39;s getting hot here in Mar. Sometimes in some places you might want to wear short sleeves. But well, shorts...i%26#39;ll leave it till June. And yes, the wind is rather cooling in Yeliu. I%26#39;m not sure how cool it%26#39;d be in Mar cos last time i went there it was winter. Taking a coat to keep u from the wind would be a smart choice.

And i believe you can find summer clothes to buy although mostly in shops they sell %26#39;spring%26#39; one now. Not much difference between the two types in TW anyway.

Jiufen is a nice place, but not a %26#39;must-go%26#39; in my opinion. U can consider Tamsui, where you can reach easily by metro and spend an afternoon on the Old Street. On the same line to Tamsui, u can hop off at a stop called %26#39;Jantan%26#39; to Shilin Night Market. It is near the famous %26#39;Grand Hotel%26#39; ...if u%26#39;re interested.

Hope you enjoy your trip in Taiwan.

Thankz for the information given.

Erm..1 more question,

is there any hotspring area that have private/family rooms in taipei city? Is it expensive?

Thx

Beitou, Yanminshan, Wulai, %26amp; Jinsan are famous spots for hotspring.

I suggest Beitou since it%26#39;s the only one that you can get to by metro. (Got to get off at Xinbeitou Station.) U can walk around there and visit %26#39;terrestrial heat%26#39; and Hot Spring Museum for free. (i remember so).

Yet the bath might be a bit smelly cos it%26#39;s sulfur hot spring.

Yes, they have private bath everywhere. Whether it%26#39;s expensive or not depends on how you define %26#39;expensive.%26#39; You can search online if there is anyone that suits u. I just check some websites for u and the fare i found is round $600~ over 1000.

Seems to be more expensive than other places.

(This one got eng website for your reference.)

Most of them offer discount if dinning or stay overnight there. Guess u can still find cheaper one when arriving there. I never go for a hot spring bath there so that%26#39;s all i can say.
