hi, i think prev there was a thread abt it.. if u work at raffles plc area the money changer at change alley have good rate.. but recently the rate kind of drop.. cos in feb my cc bill for Tw Nt dollars was around 22.3x, now i jus recd my cc bill for march is ard 22.01.

The two shops at the Change Alley entrance facing the Raffles Place MRT exit. Usually paid them SGD445-450 for every NT10,000.

I don%26#39;t know if it applies to SGD, but I got a surprisingly good exchange rate at the Taoyuan airport for USD.

After reading numerous postings in this forum and hardwarezone, my gf and I decided to change a portion of our SGD here and a portion of our SGD at Taoyuan International Airport (since the consensus was the rate there was better).

The rate that I was quoted at The Arcade in Raffles Place on 12 Mar 2009 was SGD 1 to NTD 21.90. (It was 21.95 at lunchtime according to my gf)

That was before the Asian stock market rally on 13 Mar 2009.

I then walked to Chinatown (bcos i was targeting at least 22.0) for more quotaions of rates and they were more or less similar to my dismay.

From my personal observation, the Money Changers at People%26#39;s Park Complex (the one always with the queue beside the durain pancake stall) usually sets the rate that all other money changers in the complex will follow (for NTD at least). That means you may want to queue and trying asking them first/last.

Whereas, the money changers at People%26#39;s Park Centre (with links to OG and near the Subordinate Courts) the rates of NTD are not that great compared to the ones at People%26#39;s Park Complex but no harm asking them as you might get a rate that meets your expectations.

This is my 2 cents worth.

Latest rate today at change alley is at 21.x Hope will have better rate later.

i asked my bf to change when its 22.x he didnt want.. now become 21.x then he say wait for better rate.. haiz..
