Advice on best way for itinerary

Hi,

did some research and narrowed down to these places that i would like to visit. I have 10 days, but minus off the in/out days, i have 8 full days.

Can someone advice is this routing make sense or how should i re-route. We are mainly using public tpt. Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Am currently thinking :

Day 1 : arrival in taipei

Day 2 : Yangming shan / Danshui /Beitou - stay in YMS

Day 3 : Keelung / Yeliu -stay keelung

Day 4 : Jiufen / Jingguashi -return to taipei - stay in taipei

Day 5 : Hualien - stay in hualien

Day 6 : Taroko gorge tour stay in hualien

Day 7 : East Coastal tour - stay near cingjing farm

Day 8 : Cingjing farm - return to taipei and stay in taipei

Day 9/10 : taipei F%26amp;E

Some additional questions :

1 ) How different is beitou and wulai ? Are they mainly hot springs or the town is worth visiting too ? Cos i understand YMS also has hot springs. Can i give them a miss ?

2)Is it worth visiting yingge/sansia/sanyi ?

3) What about sun moon lake ? Is it a place that i shouldnt miss , so i should try and fit in ?

4) Am i able to slot maokong or pinglin into my itinerary ? Is pinglin nice to visit?

5) Will it be difficult for me to get to cingjiing farm ? or are there any other farms that is easier to get to based on my itinerary ?

Many thanks again for your advice.

Advice on best way for itinerary

HI,

Please keep in mind that the top recommended sites may not be the easiest to reach, so that%26#39;s often a factor in deciding which places to cover.

1) Yes, Beitou (Taipei City) can be missed if you%26#39;re going to a hot spring elsewhere. You can decide between YMS (Taipei City) and Wulai (Taipei County) based on the day%26#39;s itinerary: YMS is north of downtown Taipei, a bus ride from MRT Shilin; Wulai is south of Taipei, a longer bus ride from MRT Xindian.

2) The ceramics/pottery town of Yingge (Taipei County), 30 min. from Taipei Station by train, is an option for people who don%26#39;t want to travel too far.

3) Sun Moon Lake is a mountain lake (alt. 748m), thus named because one part is shaped like the sun and the other like....:)

4) Buses to Pinglin are not frequent, so it takes careful planning.

5) Traveling to Chingjing takes some planning, as well. It%26#39;s in Nantou County, the same county where Sun Moon Lake is located. There are different types of farms in Taiwan, ranging from the sheep farm of Chingjing to cow ranches to fruit orchards in other areas of Taiwan. Are you leaning towards any particular type of farm experience?

It isn%26#39;t common for visitors to stay overnight in YMS, which is in Taipei City. Not having to go back up the mountain, you%26#39;d have more time to cover more of Taipei.

Advice on best way for itinerary

Hi,

Many thanks for patiently answering my questions :)

After much consideration, i am thinking of the followimg. Would appreciate any comments.

Day 1 28/3: Arrival. Take train to hualien / Hsincheng

Day 2 29/3: Taroko Gorge . Take train to taitung/chipen.

Day 3 30/3: Chipen/taitung hot spriing soak. Take train to chiayi.

Day 4 31/3: Day trip to Allishan. Take train to taichung

Day 5 1/4: Bus to Cingjing Farm.

Day 6 2/4 : Bus to Taipei. F%26amp; E taipei

Day 7 3/4 : Yangming shan %26amp; Danshui

Day 8 4/4 : Yeliu, jiufen, jinggua shi.longdong, bitou cape

Day 9 5/4 : Taipei F%26amp;E

Day 10 6/4 : Fly home.

Some questions

1)From taoyuan airport, how do i get to taoyan train station ? will it be easier to get to taipei to take train to hualien ?

2) If i decide to stay at hsincheng, are there any hotels there ? From hsiincheng to taroko, are there public transport or i still need to hire a cabby to get aorund ?

3)Any hot spring / hot spring hotel to recommend for chipen/taitung ?

4) Possible to do a day trip to alishan from chiayi?

Thanks..

1) If you want to go directly to Hualien from Taoyuan Airport, do take into consideration:

- Time of flight arrival %26amp; Taoyuan or Taipei train departures

- Possible delay of flight arrival

- Time of Shincheng %26amp; Hualien train arrivals %26amp; departures (Sincheng less frequent than Hualien)

2) There are some B%26amp;Bs in or near Sincheng. While the easiest way to see Taroko is by private driver tour, some visitors choose to get around by public bus. This takes some extra planning.

3) If budget is not an issue, the Hotel Royal Chipen is one of the most well-known.

4) Please note that it takes hours merely to reach Alishan from Chiayi.

I think the itinerary is too rushed, particuarly the Alishan and Chingjing leg of the journey.
