Miaoli Strawberry Farm

I would be visiting Miaoli, Taiwan in April 2009 to their Strawberry Farm. What i would like to know is if i do buy the 1 or 2 bottles of strawberry wine, am i allowed to bring it out of taiwan? If so is there a tax to it and how much would that be?

interested to visit there too...how do we go from taipei??

hi, see the remarks i posted on Posted on: 10:25 am, February 18, 2009

eh you%26#39;ll never watch tvbs news is it? the strawberries all plucked already no more, left the pinkish damn off ones. don%26#39;t go lah waste money. all the way to miaoli somemore. and the wine not like damn exciting, gimmick only lah come on fellow singaporeans, use your brain.

I was there last December cuz it was the strawberry season. Went to the DAHU strawberry farm but they didn%26#39;t provide strawberry picking services. Instead, they do sell alot of strawberry made products like wine, cookies, and souvenirs. However, the whole stretch at Dahu are all strawberry farms! So any of them will have the plucking strawberry services. But I think now the strawberry season is kinda over, so I%26#39;m not really sure whether are they still fresh strawberries for plucking.

For transport, it%26#39;s really easy. From Taipei Main station, take the railway train to MIAOLI. Alight at Miaoli station, there%26#39;s a small bus terminal. Just ask around where you can take a Hsin Chu bus heading to DAHU... and just show them the address of DAHU STRAWBERRY FARM. all the bus drivers know the place very well. and ask him to inform you when arriving. Note that the bus journey from MIAOLI station to the strawberry farm is 1hr.

Hope this helps.

I visited Dahu Wineland Resort during my recent trip to Taiwan.

From Miaoli Railway Station, take a Hsinchu bus heading to Dahu (大湖). Alight at Dahu Wineland Resort (大湖酒莊). It is sited along the main road where the bus passes by a huge replica of a yellow wine bottle. You can%26#39;t miss it. Fare: NT$62 Travel time: About 50 mins.

i plan to visit on 6th april, by than is the strawberry season over??

so if i am going how much time do i need to visit the whole area?

Strawberry picking is during the cool months of January to February, although it’s possible a month before or after the season. January to April is considered a good time to visit Dahu Wineland Resort and the strawberry farms.

How much time is needed to visit the whole area depends on how detail you want to explore the place. There are stores selling strawberry wine, strawberry shaved ice and lots of strawberry products. The exhibition hall to learn about strawberry farming is on the 3rd storey of the main building. There is a landscape garden at the roof level. Children amusement area (I think it operates on weekends and public holidays only) is at the rear of the buildings. The strawberry tourist farm is near the children amusement area. Vendors sell fresh strawberry at the front of the buildings.
