Taipei in May

Will be visiting Taipei early May. Any activities going on then?

This is my 3rd trip to Taipei and have done all the tourist places like Danshui, Jiufen,Yangingshan etc

Wondering if there are any new places to visit or would travelling to Yilan or Taichung be better?

Anyone has any mingsu to recommend in Taipei?

Taipei in May

If you have never been outside of Taipei, then maybe it is time you leave the city and give the rest of the country a try.

You will find that Taiwan has so much more to offer than just Taipei. Go explore the forest of Alishan, the rolling hills of CingjIng, the cliffs of Taroko, the beaches of Kenting, the historical sites of Tainan. Travelling is all about experiencing something different. Don%26#39;t just stay in Taipei, which IMHO is just like Singapore, except dirtier and with less greenery.

Taipei in May

There%26#39;s alot of things to do in Taiwan! Don%26#39;t restrict yourself to Taipei alone! Kaohsiung is another heaven for shopping and eating and quite a number of tourist attractions like the British Consulate, Sizhiwan Bay, etc. What%26#39;s convenient is there%26#39;s a newly built train service in Kaohsiung!

If heading towards Taichung, you will find yourself in the land of Sun biscuits. Everywhere, there%26#39;s at least 1 store selling them!

Or should try going up Alishan to enjoy the cool air during the summer heat! Haha!!

Enjoy!!

Thank you all for the input....

Any places to recommend in Kenting, Taichung and Alishan?

I would also like to go to hot springs in Wulai adn there is also some waterfall thingy there?

Any good restaurants to recommend in Taipei?

As for Wulai%26#39;s hotspring, we went to the one at Spring Park Urai. Very clean and cosy atmosphere. They have both private and public hotsprings. Just type Spring Park Urai in taiwan%26#39;s yahoo, you can find their official website. If you want the private one, better call to reserve.

For Taichung, it%26#39;s alittle inconvenient as they do not have any MRT within the area. However, the feng chia night market is something you should not miss when you are there!

Alishan has it%26#39;s own beauty for each of the 4 seasons. Its best for you to hire a guide to bring you around and 1 day is definitely not enough.

Try to explore southern part of taiwan aka: 高雄/台南...it is totally different experience than taipei city/county. I love taiwan so much that i wish to go again by next year again although i just came bck from there this jan :)

Hi people,

I would be heading to taiwan this coming may also. Checking out with all taiwan experts, is it hard to go around in Taichung?

Would be spending 2 nights there so i%26#39;m trying to find out what things i shouldn%26#39;t be missing out at taichung or i should go other county.

Sun moon lake and cing jing is already in my plan but the 2 days are taichung is still quite a question mark!

Any hotel in particular that%26#39;s worth the stay?

Please help!
