Alishan Forest Train

Hi guys!

Just wanna do a quick check before I leave for Taiwan on Thursday.

Can anyone advise me if the railway track from Chiayi to Alishan is completely repaired already? Cos I don%26#39;t wanna get off the train half way and walk 500m to another stop then continue the train ride.

Hi I just went there last week, and Yep the railway is not repaired yet.. N we had to climb 500m, bearing in mind, steep slopes uphill and downhill, and if you are carrying alot of luggage, you gotta be very careful..

Ty so much for your reply, Gabrielle! In dat case, I%26#39;ll either take a bus/cab up to Fenchihu then take da forest train ba.

The broken railway track is before Fenchihu station rite?

I am just back to Singapore from a trip to Taiwan.

The landslide area is at the 23.4km ~ 23.5km mark, near Jangnauliau Station. It is about an hour 14 mins after the forest rail train departs Chiayi and before reaching Fenchihu. Passengers need to carry all their belongings and walk about 500m, about 15~20 mins%26#39; walk. It is firstly an uphill walk before going downhill to another train waiting near a tunnel.
