Taipei --Alishan--Hualien--TPE

hi!

can i seek advices if it is alright to travel in the above sequence? i know usually travellers go from alishan to sunmoonlake then to hualien, but my grp is thinking of skipping SML. so would like to ask how do i go to hualien from alishan? and would it be very out of the way?

any alternatives or suggestions? oh and also, how long does it take to trek alishan?

There no direct public transportation between Alishan and Haulien.

However,you can

1,take the HSR from Chayi to Taipei--1hr20 mins.

2,then take the Taroko train to Haulien--2hr+.

Trekking in Alishan area normally needs time variety from several hours to several days depends on which route you take.
