Lavender Forest

I went to Taichung during late Oct last year. And I visited Lavender Forest located at Taichung Hsien. It was the most wonderful trip. The air is cooling and the scenery was fantastic. People there are extremely warm and helpful. Although it takes quite awhile and effort to get there, but it%26#39;s definitely worth all the time and trouble to get there. November to March is the season of Lavender and if you are interested in fireflies too, do stay at the nearby minsu around jan to march time and be sure to hop over to the forest for a late evening walk and you%26#39;ll ave plenty of surprises waiting for you. It%26#39;s a place where I will definitely visit again.

Lavender Forest

hihi..

hw to travel to this location?

Lavender Forest

Hi,

there%26#39;s a few outlets to this Lavender forest and the one I visited was their main and first outlet that they operated - 薰衣草森林‧新社店*.

The details are as follows:_

As this is a lavender forest, its requires more time and effort to reach there as compared to other outlets. You can take 仁友客運(31路:台中車站─中興嶺)(NT46) and then take cab to 薰衣草森林.

Alternatively, you can get a cab driver to drive you all the way up from Tai Chung to Lavender forest which is how I got there. For me, I%26#39;m actually quite lucky as the cab driver who drove me and my friend to the hotel, offered to bring us around 中興嶺 for a whopping NT2400 (one cab) which was absolutely reasonable considering the cab fare up there was already nearly a thousand NT (one way) and the time you spent to get there. Furthermore, the driver also offered to bring us to other places like the mushroom farm and castles visiting around the area.

Try to go there early so that you can spend more time there and proceed back early too as there%26#39;ll be traffic jams in the late afternoon and one thing to note is there%26#39;s nt much cab on your way down.

Still, it%26#39;s a wonderful place to visit.

Cheers!!!

Hi jindy,

Do you have the website of the lavender farm you have visited?

Thanks.

Thanks for the address.

Jindy, may I know when you say TaiChung, do you mean the HSR train station?

Also from the station, what is the traveling time needed to reach the lavender forest?

Do you have the cab driver%26#39;s contact that bring you around?

Thanks.

Hi Mousehunt,

hmm...if u r saying abt the duration of time we need to get to Lavender forest from taichung.... i dun really know exactly but i estimated if we were to go there by public transport, it shld be less than 2 hrs...however, if u can get a cab driver like mine to drive u there, it takes abt 40mins...

U can actually ask any cab driver if they are willing to send you guys around for a half a day for a price and see what they quoted...remember the price can be slashed. Try to approach those at Taichung train stations...you will see many cabbies there. Actually I think most of them are more than willing to do that becoz I learnt from my cabbie tht if they send pple around like what they usually do, they earn much lesser than if they send u guys around for half a day and earn tht price...

Hi jindy27,

Thanks for the reply. So the Taichung Station you have mentioned, is it the HSR station?

Thanks.

oh..no..its the normal train station nt the HSR
