The cost to Alishan

Hi, would like to know the fares from Taipei to Alishan and the schedule of train depart from/to Taipei%26gt;%26gt;%26lt;%26lt;Chiayi%26gt;%26gt;%26lt;%26lt;Alishan. Is the train schedule time is fixed? Any recommended hotel or homestay at Alishan? Im looking for a budget type for 4 persons of us.

For Taiwan railways,

there are at least 3 Tze Chiang trians in the morning, you could take one of them to go to Chiayi.

2. Tze Chiang 1003 Mout Cidu To Pingtung 07:00 10:22 3h 22m

The cost to Alishan

hello, leoca1, when are u going to Alishan? I am going on 1st Feb which is not the Cherry Blossom season. I%26#39;m staying in xin xin minsu and was quoted 1800NT for a 4 person room. As for the train from taipei to chaiyi, it depends on the timing u board the bus. some timing has discount.

If you go on cherry blossom season, all the accomodations will have pricing at least twice as much. This year, the cherry bloosom festival is start in 15 March 2009

Let say i depart from Taipei 7.30am reach Chiayi 10.55am, after this how i reach alishan? And where can i get to know the train fare? Will it better i have to buy the ticket 1st before i go?(incase no seat available) If yes, any online purchase?

My purpose for this trip is to see cherry blossom, as you mention the xin xin minshu, do you have email for this homestay? Is better if got the website so that i can check on it.

After you get Chiayi station by train, you could take Alishan Forest Railway to Alishan station.
