Travel Agency or Individual Airline?

Dear people,

Any one know whether to book air tix via travel agency or respective airlines?

I thinking of taking EVA air or Jetstar

So issit better to book with them?

or book with travel agency like konsortium etc?

Any pros and cons?

Travel Agency or Individual Airline?

If you book with agency, you save all the trouble for making sure that someone do the job for you.

However with them, you will have limited choice of hotel as they do not promote all the hotels in Taipei.

If you book individually, you will have the flexibility. However, you will need to check hotel and airlines individually.

I advise you not to take EVA from SG not that they are no good, but the timing of their flights is pretty weird. They leave from SG in the afternoon and leave Taipei for SG in the morning. Am I right?

For Jetstar, well for me personally, I cannot take squeezing in a small seats for almost 5 hours.

If you have fixed your date, CI and CX has some very good promo now. You may want to take a look.

Let us know if you have any questions. I believe the users here will be more than happy to help you.

Travel Agency or Individual Airline?

Between CI and Eva, I would fly with CI becos CI has more promos, hence, if u do ur homework, u might get really good deals.

I always book with the airlines MYSELF to avoid mistakes (which can only be corrected by the person who did the booking).

may i noe what is CI and CX ?

WHY eva nt gd?

Coz i dun realli trust china airline seh

CI means China Airlines and CX is Cathay Pacific. These are airline codes.

As mentioned, there is nothing wrong with EVA. I heard their service and Deluxe class is pretty good. But the timing out of SG is pretty bad.

I used to have a phobia of CI too. But seems like for the last few years, they do not have any major accident.

All things being equal, I will go with whoever has the cheapest price. Most of the time that will be the airline website, but every now and then I can get a lower price than that advertised on the website thorugh the travel agency.

The advantage of booking with an agency is you can usually hold the seat for an extended period of time. With the airline website, the ticket must be issued immediately, they won%26#39;t even hold your reservation for a day.

The disadvantage with travel agency is that refunds or reimbursements will be a pain in the butt. Having no privity of contract, you may not have the right to file claims with the airline directly, but must seek reimbursements thorugh the travel agency.

Anyway i got my airline tix from CX

cost me ard SGD 495 inculding tax.

Just fyi

Woo......Which agency did you buy from?

hi mousehunt, currently misa and zuji have promo on the CX tix. plus tax is around $480. I tot u book urs aldy?

Actually I have not confirm my flight, just reserve it only. But I will need to confirm it in an hour time.

This trip is really planned in a very short time frame. Hope it will go well!

China Airlines had no major incident the last few years ? HUUUUUUH ?

then what was that here in year 2007:

'; TOKYO, Japan (CNN) -- A Taiwanese jetliner burst into flames Monday morning shortly after landing at the Naha airport on the Japanese island of Okinawa, but 165 passengers and crew got off the plane safely, authorities said.

The China Airlines jetliner caught fire at Naha airport on Monday.

The Japanese Transport Ministry and the Naha Fire Department said the passengers included 155 adults and two toddlers. The crew was made up of 2 pilots and six flight attendants.

According to the ministry, there was ';some sort of explosion'; on board the China Airlines Boeing 737, but no other details were immediate available. Japanese media reported that a passenger saw a fire in one of the engines before the blast.

The Transport Ministry said the plane arrived in Okinawa from Taipei at 10:31 a.m. local time and stopped on the tarmac three minutes later to evacuate passengers. At 10:35 a.m., the fire department was called to the scene.

This incident is the latest in a series of accidents involving China Airlines. Jetliners for the air carrier crashed in 2002, 1999, 1998 and 1994, killing more than 1,000 people.';
