Hi all, Thanks for all the responses from the wonderful people in this forum. you have made my first F%26amp;E trip [ 27 Feb 09 to 7 March 09 ] to Taiwan a success.
Before I went, i have booked the shangrila resort, neijiang hotel, alishan train tix, airport transfer, tour with mr Lu and mr yang.
The first day i reached, I went to buy all the TRA and HSR tickets.
My parents and siblings were with me and i tried to reduce the amount of walking in Taiwan as my mom cant walk long distance. Overall , the trip was nice and the pace was not very rush. But we were all very tired at the end of each day.
Day 01 : Arrival in airport and reached Neijiang Hotel at 3.30pm. I spent about 1 plus hour to clear the custom. I have booked a mini van at 1200NT for
aiport transfer. Went to Long Shan Si, Rouhe NM and Wu fen pu. Long Shan Si was crowded and there was some ceremony going on. Next took TRA to Song Shan
station and make our way to Rouhe NM. Spend about 2 hours there. The queue for Wu Jiao Bing was long. Its near the entrance of the NM. Tried the fried
chicken cutlet. It comes with different flavour - Pepper, sweet and sour, etc. Next went to wu fen pu. Got lost there. The place was huge.
Day 02 : Went to Jian Tan and took Red 5 to YMS. Luckily we were there early, the crowd came in at about 11am. There are some cherry bloosom and beautiful flowers. Didnt managed to take quality pic there because it was crowded. Impossible to find a nice spot with no people to take pic. Left YMS at about 12.30pm, next went to Dan Shui. Beautiful place.
Day 03 : Left some luaggue at neijiang and made our way to Alishan. Took the 9.04am HSR to Chaiyi then taxi at 400NT for 5 pax to Chaiyi TRA station. Had
lunch at one of the turkey rice shop, its nice. Took the 1.35pm forest reacreation trip to Alishan. The ride took 4 hours plus and half way had to walk about 400m due to the typoon that destoryed the railway. The walk was not suitable for elders. The payments were uneven and the stair ways were a bit small. But I still enjoyed the short walk. Along the way, brought sweet potato. Its sweet and nice. Checked into Xin Xin Minsu. Its clean and cosy. There was a sky roof in my room. Was able to see the stars at night. Very nice. Had our lunch at shan Pin something.. cant remember the name. The food was okay and the rice serving was unlimited. Brought some wooden postcard and sent back to SG.
Day 04 : sign up for the sunrise at Yushan at 250NT per person. Package include star glazing (cloudy sky, was not able to see any star), drop by a millon
dollar toilet, sun rise, fu qi shu, and shen mu. Went to the Alishan recreation park and got lost. Not good in looking at map. But managed to took nice pic when we were looking for the way out. The ending point of the park was shen mu train station. It will depart twice a day - 9.30am and 10.30am. If we dont
take the train, we have to walk long distance back to minsu. good thing we were in time for the train. The train ride was interesting and the train seats
were made of wood. Its really look the old classic toot toot train. Had lunch at one of the noodle store and left Alishan at 1.30pm. Hired a van for 2000NT for 5 pax to Chaiyi HSR.Went back to Taipei and check in to Neijiang. Unloaded all the things brought in Alishan and got ready for the Shangila farm next day.
Day 05 : Check out hotel and took the 8.30am TRA from Taipei to Luo Dong and taxi for 350NT to Shangrila. That place was great. There were only 2 group of guest. Not much people. It was raining and we only walk around the park for awhile. The view was nice. The dinner was included in the package and it was very nice. appetizer, soup, a main couse that include either chicken, fish, meat and prawn, rice and a mud pie.
Day 06 : Had that the breakfast which was also included in the package. It was nice. Got toasted bread, prorrigde, eggs, vege, peanuts, sweet plums , tea and
coffee. Check out the resort and head to Hualien.Took the 9.30am train from Lou dong to Hualien. Suppose to meet up with Mr Lu but he suddenly cannot make it. Mr Hu brought us around. He was a nice chap. We went to tai ru ge and qi xin tan. He bought us to eat cong yu bing and shui jiao. Took the 7.30pm train back to Taipei.
Day 07 : Tour with Mr Meeky Yang at Jiu Fen. Included a strawberry trip at neihu. We even brought back some strawberries to SG.
Day 08 : Went shopping at zhong xiao dong lu and Taipei 101. Went to Shi lin NM
Day 09 : Went back to Dan Shui to buy goodies again. Took the chartered van at 1200NT for 5 pax to airport.

hi Joyful08,
It cost me 1300NT from Taoyuan airport to Neijiang hotel and 1200NT from Neijiang to Taoyuan airport.
The above pricing is for 5 pax.
I think this driver has just started such touring services. He was asking me if I was interesting about the tour around Taipei using his services.
Can call him or email him to get more details. He is quite prompt in email reply.
Thanks! HappyPrincess.
