WHY VISIT TAIWAN? Should be this:

Sun Moon Lake, a mountain lake at 760m above sea level (perimeter 35km); Suao, which has one of only 2 or 3 cold springs on earth; Taroko Gorge; Hohuan Mt. (3416m but you needn%26#39;t go that high :-)), which has the highest road in E. Asia; nearby Ching Jing (1800m) with its pretty mountain lodges; Jade Mt., the highest in E. Asia (3952m but you needn%26#39;t go that high either); Alishan (2216m), which has one of 3 alpine railroads remaining in the world---the other 2 are in the Peruvian and Himalayas alps; Kenting, the only national park in Taiwan that includes ocean area; Taitung, where the famous Chihpen hot springs are located; and Green Island, which has one of only 2 or 3 salt water hot springs on earth.';

Board the ferry for Green Island at Fugang Harbor 富岡漁港:

How to get to Fugang Harbor from Taitung:

';搭乘台東往花蓮、靜浦、成功的鼎東、花蓮客運，於富岡站下車。'; Translation: From Taitung 台東, take Hualien Bus 花蓮客運 or Dingdung Bus 鼎東客運, ';To Hualien 往花蓮';, ';To Jinpu 往靜浦';, or ';To Chengkung 往成功'; route; alight at Fugang Harbor 富岡漁港.

the ferry schedule changes according to the season, but in general, departures are every hour. Fares are the same for all ferries:

Taitung - Green Island Round Trip: TWD800

Taitung - Orchid Island (Lanyu) RT: TWD2000

Taitung - Orchid Island - Green Island RT: TWD2200
